📄 About This Policy

Room Rover is a comprehensive SaaS platform designed to help PG (Paying Guest) accommodations manage their properties, financials, and service requests, while giving residents a seamless digital experience.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Room Rover suite of mobile applications, which includes:

• Room Rover - PG Owner: For property owners to manage residents, track financials, allocate beds, and handle service requests.
• Room Rover - Resident: For residents to view their room details, raise service tickets, and track payments.

1 Information We Collect

We collect the necessary information to provide our PG management services:

• Personal & Contact Information – Mobile numbers (used for OTP-based authentication), names, KYC documents, and emergency contact details.
• PG & Room Details – Property identity, official addresses, room configurations, bed allocations, and resident profiles.
• Financial & Service Data – Rent tracking records, payment receipts, security deposits, amenity bookings, and service request tickets (Cleaning, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.).
• Device & App Logs – Anonymised crash reports and performance logs to improve app stability. No personally identifiable information (PII) is included.

2 How We Use Your Information

• To verify identities via OTP and grant access to the respective dashboards.
• For Owners: To display property overviews, track rent collection, manage resident lifecycles, and handle service tickets.
• For Residents: To display room details, payment history, menus, and allow them to raise service requests.
• To send push notifications (via FCM) for booking confirmations, payment reminders, service ticket updates, and announcements.
• To improve app performance using anonymised usage analytics.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the PG management service.

3 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Your PG Owner – who manages your account and can view your room and booking information.
• Firebase / Google LLC – for authentication (Firebase Auth) and data storage (Firebase Realtime Database / Cloud Firestore). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) – for push notifications.

4 Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your PG account is active. When you check out of your PG, the PG owner can request removal of your profile data from the platform. Anonymised analytics logs are retained for up to 12 months.

5 Security

• Authentication is performed exclusively via Firebase OTP — no passwords are stored.
• OTPs expire within 60 seconds and cannot be reused.
• All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS.
• Firebase security rules restrict data access to authorised users only.

While we implement best practices, no system is 100% secure. Please do not share your OTPs with anyone.

6 Children's Privacy

Room Rover is intended for use by adults (18+) residing in PG accommodations. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, please contact us immediately.

7 Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data (via your PG owner).
• Request deletion of your account data upon vacating the PG.

The app integrates the following third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies:

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notifications.
